Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Thrive Communication Therapy ("Company", "we", "our", "us"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our speech therapy services, including in-person sessions, online consultations, and related services (collectively, "Services").

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not use our Services.

Booking + Payments

Fees for services are listed on this website or obtained through contacting info@thrivecomtherapy.co.uk.

Fees are reviewed annually and take in to consideration inflation and other changes to service costings. Any planned changes to fees will be communicated with 8 weeks notice for existing clients.

Please note that we do not accept cash or cheques as payment for services.

For individual clients:

  • Initial assessments must be paid for in advance to secure booking.

  • Therapy sessions will be invoiced on completion. All invoices are sent electronically to the details held on file.

    • It is the responsibility of the client to inform the service of any changes to personal contact information.

  • Payment of an invoice is requested within 14 days of sending. If the invoice is not paid, the therapist wil cease input for you/your child until this has been resolved.

  • Clients using private health insurance are responsible for settling the invoice and claiming from the insurer concerned. We are unable to liaise directly with the insurance company. It is recommended that you check the level and nature of you cover before agreeing to sessions.

  • Clients who book and pay for 5 therapy sessions in advance will receive a 5% discount on fees.

For educational settings:

  • Following confirmation of a quatation for work the setting will be sent a ‘Service Level Agreement’ which must be signed and returned before sessions can be booked.

  • Sessions are booked in advance and invoices are sent annually. If you require termly invoices this will incur an admin fee. Please contact info@thrivecomtherapy.co.uk to discuss this further.

  • Payment of the invoice is expected within 21 days of receipt of invoice. If the invoice is not paid, the therapist wil cease input in your setting until this has been resolved.

Consent

In order to provide any clinical services we require signed informed consent ahead of contact. If you have any questions about the consent form or need this in a different format, please contact info@thrivecomtherapy.co.uk

  • If you do not sign and return the consent form before the initial consultation, we will be forced to cancel the session and you will incur the full cost of the session .

  • Please note that it is a legal requirement for the service to create an electronic care record for you/your child. If you do not consent to this we will be unable to complete any clinical work with you and your session will be cancelled and refunded.

Location of Services

Locations of sessions will be agreed in advance. Sessions will be offered in your own home, the child’s educational setting or online based on the therapist’s clinical judgement. The therapist reserves the right to recommend an alternative location or end treatment if there are significant and recurring issues during intervention.

  • It is important that the environment is quiet and free from distractions (e.g., TV off) where possible .

  • It is also expected that you (or a member of nursery/school staff) will stay for the duration of the session to allow for carryover of intervention between sessions.

  • For clients accessing online therapy sessions, a stable internet connection, a computer or mobile device with a camera and microphone, and a private, quiet location are required. Personal internet connectivity and IT for online sessions are the responsibility of the client. If a session is delayed due to client connectivity or IT issues the time will not be credited or refunded.

Cancellations

  • Cancellations must be made via email to - info@thrivecomtherapy.co.uk. You will receive written confirmation of your cancellation via email.

  • Any cancellations to individual client sessions must me made with over 24 hours notice. The session will be re-arranged to a mutually convenient time.

  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, or failure to attend are subject to the full fee of the appointment.

  • It is the parent/carer’s responsibility to inform the therapist if the child is going to be absent from school / nursery on the day of a visit.

  • If more than two sessions in a row are cancelled or missed, therapy may be recommended to be put on hold until circumstances allow for regular attendance

  • If you therapist is unable to attend an appointment, you will be informed as soon as possible. You will not be charged for this session and the session will be re-arranged to a mutually convenient time.

Confidentiality

We are committed to protecting the privacy of our clients. All personal information and therapy records will be kept confidential and shared only with individuals or entities involved in the client's care, as permitted by law, or with the client's explicit consent. The service holds a Data Controller registration with the Information Commissions Office (ICO).

Professional Conduct

Our therapists adhere to the highest professional standards and ethical guidelines. All of our therapists are registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and abide by the guidelines set out by these professional bodies.

Clients are expected to engage respectfully and cooperatively during sessions. Disruptive or inappropriate behavior may result in termination of services.

Limitations to liability

While we strive to provide the highest quality of care, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes from therapy. The service holds appropriate insurance policies as required by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of our Services.

Termination of Services

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend services at our discretion if we believe it is in the best interest of the client or if there is a breach of these Terms. Clients may also terminate services at any time by providing written notice via email - info@thrivecomtherapy.co.uk

Changes to Terms and Conditions

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Any changes will be posted on our website, and continued use of our Services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Complaints

We hope that any complaints about the services provided by Thrive Communication Therapy can be resolved by communicating directly with us. If you are unhappy with any aspect of the Service provided please contact Beth Aulton or Emma McElroy (Directors) to discuss your concerns.

If you wish to instigate a formal complaint you can contact the HCPC (www.hcpc-uk.org) to discuss your concerns.
