We provide impact-driven Speech and Language Therapy provision to settings which makes a real difference.

Creating a bespoke SALT provision for your setting starts with understanding the service model.

Thrive Communication Therapy uses a ‘whole school approach’ based on the Balanced System® model (Gascoigne, 2008-2015).

Our approach looks at creating sustainable, impact-driven services for every child across the school. This allows for children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) to access provision integrated into their classroom daily.

This approach aligns with recommendations from the Bercow Report (2008) and The Better Communication Research Programme (2012).

To maximise your time and increase the impact for all children we focus on whole school provision.

This includes input such as:

  • Staff training

  • Classroom auditing and action plans

  • Support for policy development e.g., Emotionally Friendly Schools and Trauma-Informed behaviour.

  • Integration of SALT intervention principles in to the curriculum

Universal

We set up screening tools and systems to support staff to identify students with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

We provide training for Teaching Assistants to deliver evidence-based group interventions across the year groups for students with SLCN.

Targeted

We provide specialist advice and intervention for students with significant and complex SLCN.

We support settings to refer into the Social Communication Pathway (SCP) or for an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) where needed.

Steps to becoming a Thrive School

  • 1. Initial Discussion

After you enquire with Thrive, one of our therapists will arrange a call to find out some more information about your setting, the needs of the students, any current provisions in place and your budget.

  • 2. Provision Recommendations

Following the initial discussion we will put together a document summarising our recommendations for provison for your setting.

This will include the costings for the academic year where appropriate.

  • 3. Planning Meeting

When you are happy to go ahead with the recommended provision, we will arrange a planning meeting to discuss the next steps and secure dates for training etc.

This can be arranged in person or as an online session.
